SONANCE

  CRESTRON

In 1983, Sonance co-founders Geoff Spencer and Scott Struthers had a brainstorm of an idea. They took hi-fidelity box speakers and created a way to conceal them in a wall. This made the speakers less obtrusive and much more aesthetically pleasing, without sacrificing sonic quality....and thus, the in-wall speaker was born. Since that time, Sonance has been on the leading edge of Architectural Audio. From in-wall and in-ceiling home theater systems to whole-house or distributed audio, Sonance is leading the way with new technologies and innovations.

Here are just a few examples of Sonance Innovation:

1986 - Developed the first in-wall subwoofer, a unique dual-driver speaker using vent technology.

1992 - Developed the MV30, the world's first magnetically-shielded in-wall speaker. Also developed the first pivoting tweeter speakers that allowed sound to be directed toward the listener. Introduced Industry Upgrades, more than a dozen little black boxes that allowed system customization and increased system performance.

1999 - Introduced the world's first THX-Select in-wall home theater speakers. Introduced The Sonance Silhouette, the first in-wall speakers to rival the finest audiophile box speaker designs.

2001 - Patented the SonicEye™, a coaxilly mounted, pivoting midrange/tweeter array.

2003 - Introduced the Navigator K2 keypad, a combination of touch-screen and hard key in-wall A/V keypad that can control multi-room audio, A/V, home theater, lighting and security. Introduced the Symphony Extreme speaker line, the first weather-resistant, heat-resistant in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.
